Ephox Launches Content Management Tool

By Mike Sachoff

Online authoring software provider Ephox announced today the latest version of the company's rich text editor, EditLive! V7.

EditLive! V7 is integrated with IBM Lotus Web Content Management and IBM Lotus Quickr software, allowing users to create content in a straightforward desktop and word processing environment. With new features that increase user productivity, team collaboration and website quality, EditLive! 7 lets non-technical users keep company websites, blogs and wikis up-to-date with relevant online content.

EditLive! V7 features support for Autosave. This functionality will preserve content, even if the web browser crashers, or the server session times out. V7 also includes templating functionality, giving content administrators the ability to create reusable content templates for consistent website styles and standards that can be employed by business users.

The new version of EditLive! includes improved integration with IBM Lotus Web Content Management and now deploys as an application in the portal environment. In addition, significant performance improvements of up to 70% have been achieved through a series of optimizations to caching, configuration and compression mechanisms.

"Ephox's EditLive! helps IBM Lotus Web Content Management customers to enable business users -- the subject matter experts -- to create and deploy rich content," said Andrew Roberts, CEO of Ephox. "EditLive! V7 offers a wealth of new features."
